Moviegoers can now enjoy watching films on the big screen while sitting comfortably on a bean bag chair in one particular Australian city.

According to the Lithgow Mercury, many people turned out last week to watch the movie Alice in Wonderland at the Cinema Under the Stars event at the Lithgow High School Oval. Moviegoers were able to dine on food from the on-site barbecue and sit on bean bag chairs as they watched the film. Anyone who missed their chance to watch a movie from the comfort of a bean bag got another opportunity on Saturday, January 29th at the screening of the Academy Award-winning movie, Avatar. Local musician Sam Bucca and a dance troupe also performed at the free event.

Lithgow is the latest city in Australia to join the bean bag chair trend trend in open-air cinemas. According to the Central Coast Express Advocate, a similar event was held at the Avoca Beach Picture Theatre prior to Christmas at the screening of the movies Moulin Rouge and Inception.
