Thanks Mail Carrier is a blog that reviews all sorts of products that can be “delivered right to your door,” including home improvement and décor items. Head blogger and mom recently reviewed a 6 Foot Comfy Sack as part of the Comfy Sacks giveaway. She blogged about the old bean bag chairs she remembered from her childhood and how happy she was with the modern comfort and washable cover of modern bean bag furniture.

In the blog, she described the incredible way the Comfy Sacks are delivered. The huge bean bag furniture was vacuum packed into a 68 pound package. Once removed from the package, the foam inside the bean bag expands to its full size. While Comfy Sacks warns that their bean bag furniture can take between 48 hours and a week to reach its full size, the Thanks Mail Carrier blogger was pleasantly surprised to find hers had expanded in a few hours.

All in all, the blogger and her family were very happy with their Comfy Sack. “Whether you put it in your home theater, living room, bedroom or any place where family and friends want to relax and enjoy it, this really is the perfect couch for lounging, a place for the whole family to watch a movie, a bed for a cozy nap or just a really unique chair for hanging out or playing video games,” said Thanks Mail Carrier blogger Xenia.

Orlando Cat Loves His Bean Bag Bed

An Orlando, Florida cat owner shared how his cat loves spending his days snoozing on his bean bag. Mike Kozak told the Orlando Sentinel that is cat, Boo, enjoys napping on his bean bag chair during the day and gives a big yawn when you wake him up for dinner. When he isn’t sleeping on his bean bag, his owner says Boo either plays with his toys or follows people all over the house.

Twelve months ago, Boo didn’t have the luxury of a bean bag chair. Mr. Kozak had found Boo in a car park, noting that the cat had fleas and worms and was in really bad shape. Boo is not alone in his appreciation of the comfort of a bean bag. According to Haaretz.com, Isreali singer Asaf Avidan’s pet dog Fay has also sleeps on two large sized bean bags.

Bean Bag Chairs Becoming More Popular in Classrooms

More and more schools have replaced regular chairs with bean bag chairs, according to a Journal-Sentinel article. One such school is Wisconsin’s Hartland South Elementary School, where students sit on fabric cubes and bean bags while studying.

Fifth-grade teacher Holly Albrecht says the bean bags are a hit with the kids, and the flexible seating is a step toward changing the way space is used in their classrooms. Ms. Albrecht further states that moving away from desks gives students more say about their study environment and what works for them.

Jennifer Lamar, Senior Interior Decorator for school architecture firm Fielding Nair International was noted in the article as stating that the idea to create these more flexible and comfortable spaces has really been catching on. According to Ms. Lamar, more people are realizing that spending an entire day sitting in a hard chair is not very conducive to learning.

Manilla Bulletin writer Henry Tenedero, president of the Center for Learning and Teaching Styles, stated that using bean bag chairs and throws can enhance learning for children who can concentrate in rooms containing soft furnishings.

With so many recent studies coming out about how learning environments impact children’s learning, many schools are leaning towards a more comfortable trend in decorating. Not only classrooms, but study areas and libraries are all getting on board. Many parents are also taking a cue, and bringing comfort into their children’s study areas using bean bag chairs.

When she wanted to help students feel more comfortable and encourage healthy reading habits, Cindy Gobrogge of the Revere High School library knew exactly what to do. In her library redesign, she made sure to implement bean bags. She has said that she would like for “Students to feel like the library is an inviting environment” and bean bag chairs, being so popular with kids now, were one great way to make sure that happened.

Talking about the renovation with the high school paper, she said that she’s really working to ensure that students got more out of their library experience. Making the library a comfortable, relaxing and also stylish place is one way to ensure that students want to spend more time reading. When planning her redesign, she made sure that bean bag chairs were the key factor. Bean bag chairs are an excellent way to enable children to read in comfortable positions, thus getting them to read for longer stretches of time.
