Comfy Sacks Bean Bag Chairs Featured on Fox 2 News in St. Louis, Missouri

Comfy Sacks were the featured furniture on Fox News affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri as part of their LVN 2B WELL Week, which promoted wellness in the St. Louis area through a series of events. More information on the Wellness Week can be found at http://www.lvn2bwell.com/. Comfy Sacks participated in the Wellness Week by offering giveaways and discounts through the website. Comfy Sacks bean bag furniture was also featured in the Wellness Lounge as a great way to reduce stress and promote wellness and relaxation.

During the morning news show, newscasters lounged on bean bag furniture, looking very comfortable as they talked about the comfort and style offered by the bean bags. Two morning newscasters even got a massage while sitting on bean bags for the ultimate in comfort and relaxation.

Tyler Shearburn of Comfy Sacks was on the morning news show to explain the unique features of their brand of bean bag furniture. Comfy Sacks use shredded furniture foam as a filling instead of plastic beads, which provides a lush texture. The bean bag furniture also features micro-suede fabric for a soft feel and easy clean up. The newscasters commented on the feel of the fabric and the support of the foam.

“It’s like a couch without a wooden frame,” said Shearburn, adding that Comfy Sacks were great for “home theatres, basements” and “anywhere” else people want to lounge and hang out in comfort.

Intel Encourages Innovation With Bean Bag Furniture

Computer giant Intel recently redesigned their offices near Portland, Oregon in an attempt to improve employees’ experience. The redesign included features that they hope will increase innovation, collaboration, creativity and productivity, as reported by the New York Times. The redesign was focused on a modern, fun design and included brightly colored walls, lower cubicle walls, flat screen televisions, sleek kitchens and lounging areas with beanbag chairs.

According to the New York Times article by Kristina Shevory, the company wanted to redesign their offices to encourage employees to get out of their offices and work in groups. Intel’s director of corporate services Neil Tunmore told the New York Times, “We realized that we were inefficient and not as collaborative as we would have liked.”

Beanbag furniture can help with the mission of increasing efficiency and collaboration by creating flexible areas for employees to gather and talk. Not only will bean bag chairs encourage efficiency by letting employees relax, but they are are portable so that collaboration areas can be shifted around and stored when not in use. Another corporate services directory, Peter Miscovich, told the New York Times that “The office status symbol seems not to be as important. People are living for more flexibility in their lives.” Beanbag furniture in offices certainly offers this flexibility.

Flexibility in office design is key in modern times when many companies are downsizing office space in order to lower their bottom line. Intel is just one of many large corporations who are redesigning their office spaces to include more flexible and open floor plans. Bean Bags and Autism Awareness Month

April 2^nd, 2011 was Autism Awareness Day, where people were encouraged to wear blue clothing or ribbons to spread awareness about autism spectrum disorders. The day is part of National Autism Awareness Month that runs throughout the month of April. The month is sponsored by the Autism Society, which aims to improve the lives of individuals affected by autism spectrum disorders.

One of the proven ways to improve the well being of individuals with autism is bean bag furniture because it provides important sensory stimulation. As part of Autism Awareness Month, families or organizations for individuals affected by autism should consider using bean bag furniture for everyday sensory therapy and relaxation. Bean bags can be a way for other members of the family and those with autism to play and relax together. Organizations can also put bean bag furniture in their offices for individuals to have a place to relax.

Bean bags can also be an important part of Autism Awareness Month events. Many local Autism Society chapters hold fundraising and awareness-raising events during April, including “movievents.” These unique events feature a special screening of the movie “Wretches & Jabberers” by award winning director Gerardine Wurzburg, a documentary about individuals with autism spectrum disorders. In addition to the movie, these special Autism Society events feature a panel discussion about autism.
